Who is Starz Karaoke?
Starz Karaoke was founded by Lisa and Eric Godfrey in 1999. Eric
discovered Lisa's true love for singing in the late 90's. This love for
Karaoke and music has been a key point in rejuvenating their marriage and giving
them something they love doing together. They have now been together for
over 23 years and married over 21 years and look forward to continuing to build
their Karaoke family.
Eric Godfrey has become known as one of the nation's leaders in bringing professionalism, honesty and integrity to the world of DJ and Karaoke Entertainment. While the world of the internet and advancing technology have made life easier for KJ's and DJ's it also has created a huge problem with companies illegally downloading both normal and Karaoke music tracks. Eric currently is the President of Starz Karaoke and Starz Entertainment in Phoenix, but he also is President of the Arizona Karaoke Alliance and the US Karaoke Alliance which are groups for helping KJ's to do business in better fashion and helping with resources to keep companies legal in regards to today's music world. Eric servers on the advisory board of KIAA ( Karaoke Industry Alliance of America) as a representative for the views and needs of Karaoke Jockeys and companies. He also writes for Mobile Beat Magazine and The National Entertainer Magazine and has had many articles published. He serves on the development team for WeDJ.com working on it's GigBuilder project that helps mobile entertainer's photographers and video professionals in running their business. He has spoken nationally for the Mobile Beat DJ conferences and also for years on the WeDJ Cruise conventions. He is the founder and President of the Karaoke2Night.com network of sites for helping KJ's to advertise and consumers to find places to sing. He served 3 years on the Executive Board of the Phoenix Chapter for the ADJA before stepping down in 2009 to address national issues in the Karaoke world.
Eric's company Starz Entertainment has won 13 best of awards in the last 4 years in the Phoenix Metro area for their DJ Services. They continue to lead in both the DJ and the KJ markets. Starz Entertainment was recognized in 2008 as one of the nation's best success stories at the national Mobile Beat DJ conference in Las Vegas. Starz has done over 7000 events in the Phoenix Metro Area since 1999 and takes great pride in it's clean performance record with the Better Business Bureau. After 30 years in the DJ industry, over 1500 personally done weddings, and events conducted in 11 countries and 4 different continents, Eric Godfrey looks forward still working on new ways to improve professionalism and service for his company and his industry.
USKA -
USKA is the only national Karaoke
organization that has a program to assure the customer (whether a private event
or an entertainment venue, bar or restaurant) that they are dealing with a legal
company that is doing business ethically and not violating music copyrights and
or trademarks and that they provide liability insurance for their business.
Some venues have insurance to cover all contingencies, but many do not.
Many will want insurance to keep from putting their policies at risk...
Copyright and trademark infringement have become a huge issue in today's world
and we have programs in place to verify insurance coverage, and legal music
libraries for member companies.. Anyone can advertise with USKA, but every
profile shows if the company or venue has validated music subscriptions and
insurance policies.
KIAA - The Karaoke Industry Alliance of
America is a group that oversees the legal issues of the Karaoke industry..
Members include Karaoke publishers, Karaoke distributors, National and local KJ
or Karaoke hosting company representatives. Their job is to attempt to
educate consumers and business on legal issues affecting Karaoke and protect the
rights of those doing business properly. Eric Godfrey serves on the
advisory board to KIAA.
